(CLOSED FOR 2023) Richard Cohen z’’l - JCC Maccabi Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2020 to provide Jewish youth, who would otherwise not be able to participate, the opportunity to experience the JCC Maccabi Games®. Rich had a passion for basketball and in the late 90s and early 2000s, as both a player and a coach with the Westchester delegation, the JCC Maccabi Games allowed him to do what he loved, while creating lifelong bonds and memories. Rich lost his battle to colon cancer in 2020, but wanted to ensure that other passionate teenagers were provided the necessary means to play in the JCC Maccabi Games.
Stephen H. Schulman Millennium Youth Scholarship
The Stephen H. Schulman Millennium Fund was created in 2001 with the mission to engage Jewish youth, help them connect with each other and the Jewish community, and cultivate within them a Jewish identity and sense of communal responsibility. The Schulman fund generously provides scholarship dollars to help more Jewish tweens and teens participate in Jewish experiences by aiding in the financial cost that can deter families.
